Didn't really see enough topics on this. What the hell is it, when did it come out, and why should I buy it? :) Werd. :)
 
Guru3D's review says that the 8-pipelined X800GT 256MB can do 4100-something on 3DMark05. That's impressive for a 8 pipeline card.
 
Rumor has it they'll be available in the US around the end of August. They're clocked at 500/1000, and have 8 pipes. They'll either have an R423 or an R480 core. Should you buy one? If the price is right, fo sure. There's rumored to be an AIW version, a 128 version, and a 256mb version. No word on the 512 yet, but I doubt it.

 
Pipelines to unlock?
flashing bios to make it X850XT?(X800GT and X850XT are based on the same VPU-R480).
If one of theese are possible then it is a very good choice...!
 
It's a replacement for the X700 mostly. Falls to the 6600GT in D3, schools it in most everything else. Brings 8 pipes and 256-bit bus to a sub-$200 price point. It had better be closer to $150 though, because the X800NP is sitting right at $200 already, and that gets you 12 pipes and 256bit.
