Apologies in advance if this has already been posted, but there's a X800 XT (not PE) review at beyond3d.

I saw the link on the [H] frontpage.

Since X800 PRO ViVo’s came to the market people have noticed that many of them came supplied with more expensive 1.6ns RAM, well beyond the requirements for the PRO specification, and there were reports of a startlingly high percentage rates of people successfully moding them back to 16 pipelines. It looked increasingly like the boards that had failed validation at X800 XT Platinum Edition speeds had a quad (4 pipelines) disabled and were clocked down and sold on as PRO’s. If, however, many of these PRO’s do have 16 working pipelines and are able to clock to the slightly more conservative speeds, in comparison to the Platinum Edition, of 500/500, then it may be the case that boards with 16 working pipelines may not go to the PRO SKU, but the XT. Indeed, the memory on this Sapphire board is 1.6ns, which it needn’t be for a board running with 500MHz RAM, which indicates that this too is a Platinum Edition board that didn’t quite make the grade.

Seems to validate those who thought the vivo pros were failed XT PE's. Where do you think this card will come in at, price wise?

Rumor that I heard is when the r480 is announced (at b3d they are saying in october) ati will move the xt (non pe) to the 399 price point and pull the pro down to 349. Granted that is all speculation but it makes the most since.

the 480 is a pci e version I think, with higher clocks then the xt pe, just have to wait and see though.

Native pci-e, but I'm sure they will make an agp version of it. Rumor on speed is 600/600, lets hope they can actually make more than 20 of them.

cool, yeah shouldn't too hard to make an agp version,

lol yeah that would be nice to see :D

well its depends they didn't have much difficulty with their pcie agp version of the xt

The XT launched in late May. It's taken them almost 4 months to get it out the door, and it's still not going for MSRP yet.

There have been some purchased at MSRP, even locally. Saying they have not, is ignorant. No they are not widely available, not even close. But some have made it "out the door" and sold at MSRP.

I suppose the 6800U that launched a month before the XT/PE is not selling for more than $500, and hard to find retail?

Once again, one-sided argument coming from you. :(
