i just read this article on far cry 1.3 and the performance on the x800 xt pci - express.
http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=Njc4LDI=
i decided to d/l fraps and get my average fps for the same level [ Fort ] benchmarked in the article.
here is what was recorded, when playin in 1024x768, highest in game settings, x4 AA + x8 AF
[ i only have a 17inc crt monitor ]
Avg: 70.423 - Min: 21 - Max: 120
The avg fps is good, it's the min fps that concerns me. The low fps does cause a noticeable performance drop sometimes, for example on top of the ship in the carrier level.
how come the hardocp min fps is 29 ( they were testin in 1600x1200 ) and mine is much lower 21? ( is it cos of the better ram? i dont think the cpu is gonna be that much faster )
I was planning on buying a 19inch crt monitor and playin in like 1600x1200, but i fear that despite my high spec pc it just wont be able to cope?
