x800 xt for 699

Why is it that when a hurricane hits and people start charging $$$ for chainsaws and plywood, it's price gouging...but somehow this is ok? I understand the free-market economics side of it...but it still sucks. I know this kind of thing isn't illegal in the US, but cant you Canadians or Europeans like petition the queen or something?
 
If you call a company to get the MSRP of their card and it is 399 and an online store or brick and mortar store is asking $518 for the card and you live in the same state as the store you could contact your state attorney and ask if anything can be done.

Damn it you beat me to it. I think they lowered the prices to sub $800 this week. Still if you would like to be raped without any lubrication shop @ allstarshop.com
 
Retailers can charge whatever the hell they want, I don't care. i'm really worried though about the yield rate on the manufacturing side.
