I would like your opinions or information about the X800 pencil mod. How many out there have tried it. What were your results. My friend and I will be modding his X800pro Vivo when I go back up north for the Holidays. Any information or opinions on the subject would be very helpful. I googled it and came up with one link and a bunch of forum gab, with no real info. Thanks Again. http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=817&s=1

Results in sig. Use a multimeter to check voltages and don't go too high for your cooling. Go bit by bit at a time, don't just up it to 1.6v out of nowhere. Baby steps are your friend :)

I should have noted he has already unlocked the pipes and it's performing well at XT PE speeds. The card's temp's are 39c idle and 66c underload. He has 5x80mm fans case cooling 2 intake blowing air to both sides of the card. Are the temps ok for v-modding? By the way were can he pick up a multi meter?

A cheap DMM can be had at a local hardware (not pc hardware) shop like Ace's, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. for around $20.

I've done it on my x800 pro. I brought it to 1.4V I believe it was, and it brought up my core clock from 540Mhz to about 565. I didn't go any higher because i'm on stock cooling and I didn't want to screw the card over just yet. :)
