x800 to xtpe temps

i get 50C at idle, is that the average temp or should i get a arctic cooler.
 
My Xt/Pe was at 40c idle lastnight with an NV4. The one here at my office is stock and is around 46c.
 
messing around with the fan control, i got it to 42c idle. same noise level as before. how much would the arctic cooler (when set to max) get it down to. lower then 40c?
 
My X800pro mod to XT PE temps are 40c idle to 70c underload. Stock cooling.
 
Wow. I only got to 54c after an hour or so of Doom3 maxed out. I do have a Prome.. so I guess I have less heat in my case.

You do realise it was probably a lot hotter than that when running the game. As soon as u come out of a 3d app it cools down instantly.

Try ATI Tool, run the 3d cube thing and open the OverDrive tab and watch ur temps go up. My XT PE runs at 42 degrees idle and ive put the fan to 100% when it hits 70 degrees, so u hear the fan kick in when it hits 70 it drops back to 67-68....back upto 70 then drops...in circle.

And let me say, w00t I LOVE IT :) Starting to play Doom 3 now and man it looks amazing at 1280x1024 4xaa 16xaf on ultra settings :)
 
Will try that. But I cn not see it dropping almost 20c in like 10 seconds...but ya never know. ;)

And YES, Doom3 kicks ass on the XT/PE! wOOt!! :D
 
Does the 6800 have better visual then the XT/PE in D3, or are they on par?
 
my X800 card is idling at 41.

but im using atitool to have may card clocked at x800 pro speeds when in 2d
