I found this quite interesting... Far Cry 1.2 has a BETA implementation of SM2.0B. When enabled, I see a ~10 fps increase across the board.

To try this out for yourself, the variable in-game is "r_SM2BPATH" with a value of "1".

Once enabled, yellow text at the top part of the screen will confirm the new SM mode.
 
Yeah, I saw some guy mention that performance should increase even more once ATI introduces some new drivers that supports a unique feature found in that pathway.

I tried it too but no matter still borked textures and other 1.2 issues.
