X800 Pro Volt Mod Questions

Checked out ARP's X800 Volt Mod Guide last night, and did the pencil mod. My voltages right now are as follows:

VGPU: 1.49
VDD: 2.25
VDDQ: 2.20

The I tried VDDQ at 2.06, and I was not stable at 570/570, but with it set at 2.20 it does 570/570 stable. I'm wondering if lowering or raising any of these voltages will help me hit the magic 600/600 stable.

Right now it still has stock cooling; I have a Silencer ready to be installed once I am set on voltages.

My main question is should I raise VDDQ above or below VDD, and by how much?

The guide says the VDDQ is supposed to be ~.1v higher than the VDD.

My question is how did you do the VDD? I thought it had to be modded via soldering? Do you have a link to the guide you are using?

You know it was odd; the VDDQ on my current card was stock @ 2.19v.

I'll try upping the VDDQ to 2.3v and the VGPU to 1.55. I'm a hair away from breaking 12k on 3DMark 03 using my lowly 2.8GHz P4 (which is better than I ever got on my stock XTPE).

Okay, 1.55v VGPU, 2.16v VDDQ, and 2.22v VDD...585/585 stable, stock cooling @ 69C load.

I'm testing stability using ATITool Artifact Tester, BTW. Next is 1.6v VGPU. Still not hitting 600/600 w/o artifacts yet

For comparison, it does 4648 3DMark 05 at the stock 475/450.

It seems like your just not going to be happy until you hit the 600 mark. From what I've read on the subject your not supposed to go above 1.5v on the core without excellent cooling. Your going to fry your card my friend, then you'll wish you had left your card alone.

If I fry my card, I get a new one Not through ATi, of course, that would be wrong. I killed a X800XT about 5 months back...got posted on the front page

And FYI, everything in the computer hardware world has a certain amount of cushion built in. Processors are spec'ed to run up to 80C+, even though few will ever see such temps with proper stock cooling. People run their overvolted overclocked CPUs for 1-2 years without a problem; now maybe they will only last 3 years vs. 10 years for a stock CPU, but who the heck keeps a CPU for 10 years?
