My stock x800 Pro cooler is starting to make noise and is really annoying. I need a good SINGLE SLOT solution for fixing it. What would you guys recomend. It absolutely must be single slot or it wont fit in my XPC.

Oops, nvm, it isnt signle slot, the zalman hangs over another slot.

Yeah Zalmans are dual slots. Are there really any good coolers out there that are single slot though? Zalmans and Artic Cooling are the 2 popular coolers out there, which both brands are dual slot I believe.

That iceburq looks like a gimmicky piece of shit. Don't even bother. I'd go with one of those small zalmans, I've seen benchies for those and you can't go wrong.

do you have a site that can point to those small zalmans? I really dont want a video card that lights up lol seems pointless

That's a goddamn shame you need single slot. Over the weekend I modified my stock OEM AMD A64 heatsink to bolt to my HIS X800 Pro (it had the ICEQ2 thing installed as standard).

With a 1.8v VGPU mod, I am able to overclock the core to an astounding 675Mhz (200Mhz over stock), with no artifacting or overheating whatsoever. It can probably do even more, but I still need to do vDDR mod, and sort some cooling for the DDR3 chips, so it won't make any difference to performance as my vram is still stuck at 590Mhz.

I do apologize if this post is useless to you, but it does demonstrate what you could possibly achieve with that X800 if you were prepared to modify your XPC to make a bigger HSF fit.

Can you not move one of your cards down or remove one of your pci cards? You shouldnt have that many pci cards anyhow, it's not good mojo :D

Most modern cases have enough peripherals (USB, Firewire, audio jacks) to defeat the need for extraneous PCI cards.... so I don't see the need for ALL of the PCI to be used.

Exactly, and with an X800pro, it should be a fairly modern pc.

put a drop of hot vaseline under the sticker of the fan on the center post. that's how i cure nosey old fans

please look at the picture its a shuttle XPC. there is 1 agp 1 PCI. I will try working the fan but I dont think it will work
