X800 Pro + 3DMark 03 problem

I just got my Sapphire X800 Pro, and immediately benchmarked it in 3DMark 2001, which ran fine, producing a score of 19650 3DMarks. However, 3DMark 03 cannot successfully run - it just quits (bombs to desktop) at the end of either the first, second (usually the second), or third game test. I have tried everything I can think of, with the exception of updating my BIOS and my chipset drivers (which are both fairly recent anyway). I am running at base clock speeds all around (FSB and vid card are both at default rates), I loosened my RAM timings, I uninstalled my Omega drivers and installed a standard Catalyst 4.7 driver, and I reinstalled 3DMark 03, and none of these things have corrected the problem. I also did a combined video and CPU stress test (ran ATITool in artifact scan mode and a CPU burn in tool at the same time) and my voltages held out without going anywhere near dangerously low numbers (specifically, the minimum on the +12 line was +11.92). What the heck is going on??

These are my system specs for reference:
Thermaltake Purepower 420W PSU
MSI Neo-2 LS 865PE Motherboard (Intel INF 6.1 drivers)
2x 512MB sticks OEM PC3200 @ 400MHz (matched set, unknown what the recommended timings are, running 2.5-3-3-8) Dual Channel
Intel Northwood 2.6GHz @ 2.6GHz
Sapphire X800 Pro @ base clock speeds (475/900), ATI Catalyst 4.7 Drivers (radlinker not installed)
2x Maxtor 120GB 8MB SATA HD RAID-0 (SMART reports both drives ok)
Quantum Fireball 5GB (boot drive, SMART reports ok)
Thermaltake Xaser III case
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 OEM card

If I forgot anything major please ask for details.

I'm having the same problem as you with my Sapphire 9800 pro, except it doesn't go to the desktop, but it just goes to a black screen...

I'd like to know what's up too... thanks

mine is in the CPU test of the Troll's Lair, if that means anything...

I found a possible solution. MSI has just recently released a bios update which specifically states "Fixes ATI X800pro can't run 3DMark properly". I don't have this update installed. This will likely fix my problem.

yeah, that will probably do it... :p

It won't help me out though... :( I don't really care though. It has run everygame that I have ever tried on it, so I'm happy with that!

Have fun with that beast of a video card! ;)
