hey guys,

i was wondering if i could get some help...

currently im running an x700 se and i have the opportunity to buy an x800 128mb pci-e card for 48 bucks... is this a good deal?

also, what kind of performance increase would i see? im not a heavy gamer so thats not an issue for me.

my system is: P4 630 3.0, ECS mobo, 1gb ram

Well $48 is a good deal on that card for that price yes; provided its in good working order. If you're not a heavy gamer as you term it would are you even considering this move to begin with? Is something wrong with your current card?
 
OK well then as aforementioned as long as the x800 works $48 is a very respectable price for it. As far as performance increase in 3D games you'd see a minor one, but its definitely a moderate upgrade
 
You will see a noticeable performance gain and $48 is a good deal for that card...i say do it.

would a 256mb x800 be much better?

also... i was thinking of maybe trying to overclock it. what are the possibilities for that with the x800?
 
Well the x800 is a gamers card so OCing it really like taking it home. I know you mentioned you weren't a heavy gamer but if you're planning to be the x800 is a nice place to start with some older classic games like ut2004 or far cry. The 256mb version is certainly better than the 128mb version from a gaming standpoint
