x8 PCIE video card

dunno but an x16 card will work in an x8 slot.. if thats what your asking.. and will fold correctly.. you can also fold in an x4 slot as well..
 
I have a Dell PE 2900III with 4 x4/8 pcie slots, that are true x4/8 slots, so they are not x16 slot compatiable. (ie. short slot).
I'm looking for a solution to run in each slot, that is supported by the F@H gpu client
 
there was an article of a guy who modded some x1 and x4/8 slots to accept an x16 card to fold with.. but i cant remember where it was at..

You might be thinking of this?

I modded my x1 slot to accept larger cards. I first melted it with a soldering iron, then used a razor blade to cut out excess.
