I have 2 sets of 16gb (4x4) G.Skill ram and im not sure which set i should keep. I plan on seeing how close my cpu can get to 5ghz first. If it doesnt clock well i may just get a i7 4820k mainly for the unlocked multiplier. So please keep in mind i may upgrade the cpu in the near future. If there is a better combination including the i7 4820k and one of the 2 sets of ram i have please mention that. Current specs that matter are

i7-3820
Asus P9X79 Deluxe
Corsair HX850 (gold rated one)
Windows 7 ultimate sp1

The two sets are:

If you need ANY extra info please let me know.

From personal experience, if I were in your shoes, I'd go for the higher bandwidth with slight relaxed timings than the lower bandwidth, tighter timings. Higher bandwidth makes a good bit of difference in almost all memory intensive applications.

Also I would at least overclocking the cas 7 ram to 1600 8-8-8-22 or so, But I see what your saying. Thanks

I would keep the 1866 memory.

The Cas latency difference isnt large enough to stay at 1333 speeds.

Running at 1866 and try to change around the timings would be a better bet. With 1333 ram you are pretty much locked in and you may get to 15xx or 1600 but that would still under perform(slightly) against a kit at 1866 at 8-9-8-25.

1866 it is, thanks guys. Will probably sell the other set on the marketplace
