I've had my X6800 for a while now I am wondering if I should upgrade to something like the cheaper dual core for better performance? or just wait it for another year?

I only honestly don't know much about computers, I just got into building a pc a while back and as any noobie with money would do I just bought the most expensive things because I thought the more it costs the better heh.

You would think I would have learned my lesson and not have bought a 280GTX at launch. Thanks for the advice.
 
It's still a fairly high end processor. You could get better performance from upgrading to an e8400/8500 or a quad, but if I were you, I would wait till Nehalem.
 
Yeah I figured I should just wait till Nehalem to upgrade too, I doubt I could sell my X6800 anymore for even 200 dollars. Thanks.
