ok been reading tons and tons of negative/postive reviews of the os.

i want to make the switch, my xp4400+ is craving 64 bit!

just wondering what peoples expericens have been

so far all my hardware vendors have driver support for every componet, so that shouldnt be an issue. Except maybe the wireless card, havent checked.

anyway just in general are the gains AT the moment substainal enough in gaming mainly to switch over

i think there is maybe 3 titles that support 64bit, FEAR being one of them.

so bf2 etc prolly wouldnt benefit

Even with 64 bit enabled apps you wont see a serious improvement in gaming. It's more of a hey Im running x64 type thing unless your developer wanting to toy around with 64 assembly / compiling. Other benefits include having less updates I suppose.

Windows Media and Avi/Mpegs seem to load quicker for me only noticeable improvements i see

It depends on your application. 64-bit Mathematica rocks, for instance.
