x600 pcie win98 driver

To the best of my knowledge the last Win98 drivers were for the 9800 series and below cards..

Are there chipset drivers available for your pci-e mobo?

From what I know, Win98SE is not compatible with PCI-E, dual cores (or quad cores) and SATA.
It's still possible these days to build a Win98SE compatible computer but it's getting harder because the motherboards for socket 939 and socket 754 are vanishing. At least the higher quality ones are mostly gone.
WinXP is really an upgrade. I went with Win98SE for 5 years and didn't regret the move to WinXP.
If you really want to use Win98SE, I'd say you better get some DDR1 RAM and a reliable motherboard that will work with it as fast as you can.

What brand of video card is it? Maybe the manufacturer has a specific driver.
Out of curiosity, I looked up the drivers on the ATI website. With a 9800 Pro, you'd the latest you can get is driver 6.2

That's weird. I didn't think of that before. I guess even with a new AGP card, the OS may not be supported anyway. Sheesh. I just looked at the Nvidia site as well. Looks like the Geforce 6 series is the maximum you can use there as well.

Thanks for the suggestion however that kind of defeats the purpose of me making this thread in the first place. Im aware of the 9800 being the latest card that is still specifically listed on ATI website as to support Win98. However I also know that under that list of old cards there is this option "Radeon". I am not sure whether or not that includes support for X600, Im getting the impression that it does from googling however I was hoping for a more concrete answer if available of someone actually running a PCIE card, or better yet a ATI X series card in Win98. Iv read people getting Nvidia PCIE cards to work with Win98 but havent seen much with ATI.
Anyway I can go AGP if i had to but that was my last resort. Main reason is that I have a cheap VIA matx board on hand that supports Conroe and PCIE. Im itching to try out the new Conroe-L that was released and then drop it into this matx board for Win98. Thanks for the help though any more information will be greatly appreciated.

if they are DOS games run Dosbox... everything else should work though some kind of patch from a 3rd party or a virtual machine
theres no way to actually USE Win98 anymore.
