X41 dilemma

I was thinking of getting the Kraken X41, but after receiving my new case and actually doing the measurements, I think I sort of overestimated the clearance space available. The X41, according to specs, is 36mm (radiator) + 25mm (fan) = 61mm thick. I have only about 57mm. Sigh.

I think I have two options:
(1) Get the X41, and switch it to a slim fan.
(2) Get a X40 or Corsair H90, which should fit comfortably.

According to the experience, which seems a better option?
Frankly for (1), I haven't heard of really good 140mm slim fans, with the presumably required higher static pressure for a thicker radiator like the X41, but I dunno...
