X3350 Temperature Question

I have a X3350 overclocked to 3504MHz. The cpu voltage is set to 1.275 in the BIOS. Cpu-z reads the voltage at 1.264 at idle,1.232 running Prime 95. My water cooling system is Swiftech MCR-320 Rad/Swiftech MCRES-MICRO reservoir / Laing D5 Vario pump / D-Tek Fuzion water block with the Quad nozzle installed with 1/2" Id hose. The rad is using a Radbox and is install on the back side of the computer.My room temperature is 27c. When I first startup the computer Real Temp says the temps are 44-42-46-46,surfing the web they go up to 46-45-47-47. Just ran Prime for 12 hours on Small FFt, the max temp I got was 61-60-61-61 with the room temp at 30c. I already reseated the water block and nothing changed. I also play with the pump setting and the fan setting with no change in temperature from the #1 setting to the #5 setting on the pump. Same goes for the fan setting, I can go from min fan to max fan with 1 degree change in the temperature. So what do you guys think of my temperature.
 
I have the exact same CPU and it's clocked to 3.6GHz. My volts are at 1.3 in Bios. I'm getting average 44-48C on idle and running on Prime my temps go up to 71-73C. I'm on air cooling. I think your temps are probably fine.
 
Thanks for the reply. I read that some people are saying that they are in the upper 20c to 30c range at idle made me think I was running too hot. Anybody else has a option please express it.I really would like to know what you guys have to say.
 
its because your ambient temps are so high. (you normally from Africa?)

throw a fan in there, perhaps a window fan, keeps my room like an icebox which i dont mind cuz i like the cold, and my temps are like 25 idle and like 40 on load and thats with a E6420 running at 3.5, 1.44v
 
I'm gettin 38-41-39-39 at idle and 48-49-48-48 with my setup. Room temp is 23. I still dont' see how people are getting 25-27C with room temps of 23.

well I have mine watercooled, not sure if you are dealing with air or liquid cooling...?

also I have my cpu lapped so that drops the temp quite a bit as well, if the block and cpu aren't making good contact, that could be a reason for the high temps as well

I've got a similar setup but with an older apogee, only the dual 120 swiftech rad, and an 8800Gt in the loop. Real temp is telling me that i'm about 41-43 idle and about 54-57 loaded with p95. I'm also at about the exact same speed and vcore, 438x8 and 1.275v set in the bios. Its still pretty cool in the midwest so my ambient is about 21C right now.

If your ambient is above 23C or so i could see your temps being around there. Also, what is your pump speed set to? If you've got it on 1 or 2 you might not have enough flow. Fan speed plays a big part too.

yea my fan speed is maxed basically

plus i keep my ambient temp between like 10-15 lol

sorry didn't realize you have a GX2 in there, whether it be on water or air, the GX2 disappates a lot of heat, so that would be my guess as to why the temps for the CPU are so high

Well if thats the case you might look to see what kind of contact your block is making or if its tight enough. When I got my 3350 i applied my normal thermal paste and then dropped the block down on it and tightened it. Then i took it right back off to see if i was making solid contact everywhere or if i needed anymore paste to fill a gap. It turned out that I had went a little thin on the paste on one side so i added a little more. That's the only thing I see you really have left to check in terms of setup.
 
The GX2 is air cooled right now,but I plan to put in a second loop for the video card. I already reseated the water block once ,but I could try it again and put more paste on it.I will probably lap the CPU then too and add the NB to the first loop.

Well, it's making good contact. I reseated my block 3 times and everytime I removed it, it had a good contact pattern. Remember, I have two X1900's in my loop. That could cause a problem, right?

How do you have your fans set on the radiator? Pull or push? Also, where is the fans getting the air from?
 
The rad is mounted to the outside of the computer case in the back of the case with a radbox. Right now the fans are pulling air through the rad from outside the case.
 
Those temps are in line with what I have, and I have a hot room too. Too much electronics in this room, it's always the warmest in the house. Which is nice in the Winter, not so nice in the Summer. I need to get around to reseating my block though, I have a feeling it's not contacting as well as it should.
