I currently have a vx2025wm, and love it, however, my family needs a new monitor, and i am considering getting a 22" for myself, and letting mine go to the wife, and hers to the child in a cascading effect, after researching here and elsewhere i have narrowed it down to either the sceptre or the dell, i can get the dell delivered for about $350 with a five year warranty, and the sceptre for the same if i order from the egg and get their warranty extension. which is better, or if you prefer anything else speak up and tell me why. I value your advice here, and will take it into consideration. Thanks Beforehand:)

I had them both side by side and the Sceptre was noticeably brighter with better color. Banding seems more noticeable on the dell. I kept the Dell over the Sceptre ONLY because I had a mild but annoying video interference on the Sceptre. The interference was present only when in OSX and non existent in Windows so I wouldn't consider that a strike against the Sceptre unless you have a Mac. The edge goes to Dell for support.

cmon people, there has to be more than one of you out there who has an opinion. and thanks for the one i have gotten, i am kinda leaning towards the dell, for price and warrenty, if nothing else.

Well, I recently bought a KDS 22" LCD after spending over a month trying to decide amongst the usual suspects (samsung, viewsonic, gateway, dell). Here's the link to it:

http://www.kdsusa.com/K22mdwb.asp

It's got HDCP, 1 DVI, 2 VGA inputs. Pretty much all the 22" lcds have the same kind of panel, so in the end you pretty much choose brand name or any other features (component/composite/s-video inputs). I'm kind of weird in that since my old Samsung 17" lcd, both my lcds have been brands most people don't buy. My 19" lcd is a Princeton Graphics deal, and it's been wonderful the last 2years. I've had this KDS lcd for about a week and a half now and It's been great. It puts my princeton to shame much like my princeton put my crt to shame. I've played games on it, watched dvds, and watched hdtv on it and it's been beautiful. There are little things that ALL the 22" panels have to deal with (1/4" of backlight bleed on the top/bottom that you won't see unless the monitor is a black screen) but otherwise it's been fine. Response time is listed at 2ms, but honestly i can't tell. There has been no ghosting in any games. HD-wise, it'll do 720p no problem. I'm using it with my Hauppage HVR1600 ATSC/analog tuner and it's been good. It doesn't do 1:1 pixel mapping, but stretching the "no border" mode to the edges looks great. That only happens if you're watching live tv. Videos and HD trailers looked beautiful. Aside from that, KDS offers advanced replacement (KARES, they called it) and a 3 year warranty I believe. Otherwise, even though the KDS has speakers you can't see them from the front. The lcd is very pretty with a solid metal stand. In fact, the way you adjust the monitor angle is by turning a screw on the back of the pedestal. It doesn't tilt up very much, though. However, in my case my desk has an adjustable monitor base so I have it leaned back with the monitor leaning down. Aside from all that, I have it connected with a (probably overpriced) belkin pureAV dual-link dvi cable. Generally, I like it. If you want video inputs then look elsewhere, but this seems to be a very sturdy and well-build monitor. Okay, well here are some photos I took when I got it. I hope that helps :) Oh and it's about $289 at mwave.
