What do you guys like to do for testing out your X2 system and multitasking?

Two instances of Prime95 v24.13 running a custom torture test with 8K-4096K FFT's and "Run FFs in-place" ticked. And dont forget you have to set the affinity to 0 on one instance and to 1 on the other in order to run two instances of Prime95. Otherwise it just tries to run both on one core and it wont work.

hehe, it will run on both core. Load balancing happens beatifully on this situation. Only thing is, you don't know which one is using which core at the time... unless you forced affinity.

Try to do it without setting the affinity to run on each core. If i try to load two iterations of Prime95 without setting it the second one just crashes as soon as it starts to load. Of course i only have one install of Prime95. You may be able to get it to run if you did two seperate installs of Prime95 but i have no reason to do that when i can just use one install and create two shortcuts and set the affinity on each shortcut.

I did install 2 copies :p (It's actually simple as just making copy of directory) As for 2 instances of prime95 failing on second copy immediately,
1) Heat output is of different animal. @ 1.7v I am talking about 30-40W difference between single prime and dual prime.
2) Both cores are not created equal. one won't overclock as high as the other one would. Very common sympton. FYI, I can single prime well into 3.13ghz... on either core. One of core will go beyond that. but I don't trust that kind of stability check.

I run 2 instances of Folding@Home (because you aren't truly [H]ard if you don't run F@H constantly) without affinity set, and 2 instances of Prime95 with affinity set.

you shouldn't run F@H if you don't know wether or not your system is stable. You're not helping anyone by giving back incorrect data.

Absolutely correct and they explicitly request that no one use it for stability testing. Folding and giving back bad units is worse than not folding at all. Use Prime95 for that, it has a testing mode.
