All I have to say is, amazing. Get this, the stock cooler is HUGE, it has an 80mm fan, copper base, and 2 heatpipes. Its been running around 32*c idle stock and around 37*c load (1hr prime 95). I have it overclocked right now to 2.4 (from 2.2ghz) and I'm running p95 but it seems stable as all getout. I may have gotten one of the better overclockers :)

4800 = 2.4ghz = $1,000

4400 = 2.2ghz = $700


I cant break 37*c load in prime 95 at 2.4ghz. and this is on stock. Imagine better air or water....
 
Thats awesome. I will be getting a 4800+ and all I hope to achive on it is 2.6GHz / Core. I will be happy with that. "In effect dual FX-55's" Sounds good to me.
 
shit lol. I had it at 2.4ghz stable running prime 95 loading around 37*c, once I took it up to 2.5 it crashed. Was it because of not enough voltage? or what would cause it to crash like that?
 
Might be ram. FYI you need to run two copies of prime to stress an X2, else you're just utilizing 50% at best. The readme has instructions for dual setups.
 
You can also go into a site called BenchmarkHQ, and look for BurnMax in the cpu benchmark tools section, the interface has a clearly marked 1 or 2, or 1 and 2 cpu's section. I have an x2 4600 on a Prometia MachII, it will take it down to about -33C, which is the same as two versions of Prime 95 running at same time does. Enjoy your X2!

my last ocing problem question (hitting 2.5) could it be my ram? HTT is double pumped right? So if its at 250 and my ram is 1:1 then the HTT is at 500 and rams at 500?

Yes, I saw your ram, you should have plenty of room to play with. You have more tweaking to do. BTW I would love to have your temps with 2 copies of prime running. At the moment I peak at 55c-56c.

What are your timings at? Corsair seems to hate AMD :(
 
I still have time to RMA it for a refund to newegg. I think I like the stuff though. Its fast and good enough for me, and works well.
