Hi all
In the end of july im gonna build new system, and have cpl questions for experts here
Im working on the web and run firefox(at list 10 windows),record some Tv prog.,play music and game at the same time,so:

1.Do ill be better with x2 4800 or fx57
2.I like to get 7800GTXx2 SLI does this SLI setup gona be bootlenecked by CPU
3.Is OCZ 600W PowerStream gonna be enuff(im gonna get some 2HD,2DVD-RW,Audigy2)
ill like to buy PC&PC800W,but they dont sell it here
4.Im gonna have problems with this SLI on dell's 2405fpw?
5.I need at list 2Gb of RAM-is 2x1Gb ballistix gonna be good
6.I gonna OC it,but not to max.

Thank you.

According to what you're doing with the system, I'd say go with the x2. With 2x 7800gt's, you won't notice much difference at all in gaming between running the fx or x2.

i would definatly go for the X2. Simply because it is 2 FX-53 cores, compared to 1 FX-57 core. You probably won't notice a large difference in your gameplay, or whatever the plan for the system is.

More like 2 4000+ SD cores am I right.
The RevE cores OC a lot better than the FX-53. The FX-53 lacked DSL or sSOI so it couldn't quite do what the FX55 claw did.

I want to know where some of you people get this large sum of money, yeah i'm in the military and get my steady $500 paycheck the 1st and 15th of the month ($100 into savings, $50 on credit card, from the original $650) i just wonder sometimes.

I recieved $4055 for graduation basically out of the blue. I had no idea my family had that much money. So, tomorrow, about $1800 of that will be going to a new Inspiron 9300 and a 17" LCD screen for my desktop.

My current rig, 3700+ S754, DFI, gig of TMSP, and Leadtek 6800GT is something I worked to earn. I have no bills so I was able to do it with a minimum wage job.

Yea saving is good, I get only like 500-800$ a month but then I only pay a total of 60-80$ for all my monthly bills combined, so far I have a little over 2,000$ in my bank account and like 120$ in my pocket, but I'm waiting to upgrade as Im satisfied with the setup I got right now and things havn't jumped to much to warrent the kindof upgrade I would want within a reasonable price.

Holy crap, my graduation is in a couple days, I wish my family was that rich. Hopefully I gte enough to build a half decent system.

And on topic X2 for sure, gaming + video recording= X2

That formula isn't entirely correct....

Everything + Everything < X2.

I would get the FX-57 personally. I am not screwing with dual core, even paying it any notice, until 65nm is the norm.

Go for the x2 and dont skimp on the psu. If you plan not to run vdimm @>2.9V then get Zippy 700W for $290.00 and youll be all set for enough juice supply to the system :D

So better overclocker.

Only better because the cores are handpicked. If you know what you're doing and can do basic math, you don't need higher multis to hit high speeds.

I would probably get the PCPNC 510 SLI or the 850 SSI with that kind of system

The 850 is way too xpensive...Heres the spec of Zippy 700W...

X2 is multiplier locked.
FX is multiplier unlocked. So better overclocker.
Umm yeah. Like it was said before, basic math makes up for the lower multipliers. I went with a 3000+ with a 9x multi and I can hit anything I want, maybe with a vapo I'd run into issue at 350+ HTT and 3.15+ghz, but then I would have bought a more expensive chip.
I can't see any reason for going with the FX, as two unique cores are better than one, especially when you are paying close to the same price. Also I understand you have an extremely large budget, but I'd be willing to bet that the 4400 will have an average overclock very very similar to the much more expensive 4800. I mean both have 1mb of cache, it's like comparing a 3000+ and a 3200+ venice, why pay more? Unless the 4400 has a low multi (9x maybe), but even then without a vapo it won't matter, a nf4 can push 333+ htt with ease on the right board, as 3+ghz is unlikely though possible on air. If you hadn't mentioned overclocking I wouldn't have said it, but seeing as how you did, you might as well pocket the difference and buy a huge monitor or spend a little extra on a vapochill or w/c setup, because I bet these chips will have very similar maximum oc's.

I hope I even get graduation money, you people are all rich I swear..I hope computer engineers make money because thats what I want to be.

We work and know how to save money. I only have a "decent job", enough to get by ok. Buy less beer, go out to eat less. Stop buying pointless stuff. Tell the girlfriend "no" once in a while(thats probably the biggest ones... and no i dont mean no to sex =P).

FX-57 if u r plannin to build gaming rig, and X2 for multitaskin. FX57 still owns X2. :p
Even if you are gaming, I'd take the X2 over the FX57 just because of the superior overall performance, if they weren't rev e's and he was planning on leaving it at stock, that'd be one thing, but the fact that these are pulling 2.6-2.8 just like the venice/san diego outweighs whatever a FX57 could offer IMO, as the FX57 is really just a super expensive desktop/workstation chip that overclocks well. Look at it this way: Would you rather have 2x 2.7 ghz san diego processors, or 1x 3 ghz FX57, which is close to a san diego anyways right? Personally I think for what you get for your money, the X2 is a far better buy. Unless you are going to sport some serious cooling, I wouldn't pay a processor premium that you could get by buying a cheaper processor and super expensive phase setup. IE, 4400+vapo=~$1250 4800+=~$1000
Given that the 4800+ is only 200 mhz faster, and will likely not achieve an overall higher OC by more than 100-200mhz if that (can they really be binning chips for a 200mhz difference?), plus that the multi on the 4400+ is plenty high at 11x, and for another $250 you could have a vapochill that would run the 4400+ at 3-3.5ghz, I'd take the 4400+ and a vapo, or just look at it as saving $400, or paying $2 per mhz.

I know it's OT, but isn't some sort of service mandatory if you are a male citizen over there?

"Most Israelis, males and females, are drafted into the military at the age of 18. Exceptions are Israeli Arabs, confirmed pacifists, and women who declare themselves religiously observant. Compulsory service is three years for men, and 20 months for women."

X2

It's awesome. My 4400+ is doing 2.7-2.75ghz with a low end water cooling Exos. It's easily the best power user cpu ever. :D

please don't just take my word for it, the oc's are great

wow, thats a lot of tasks to handle.
definitely go with the X2, you might even be able to bring it to its knees. just make sure the memory is there, heh.
