I was getting anxious today and said why not...
Went into the bios and bumped the fsb up to 275 without
changing anything else, typing this at 2.9ghz without anything
changed other than fsb. Is this good so far for an x2 4000 brisbane?

Both cores are sitting at 27* C, Also ram is running at ddr2 964.

Tell me how this is looking :D

That's a great start! try checking the stability with prime95, also I'm going to guess all your voltages are set on auto?
My brisbane 4400+ maxed out at 2.96Ghz but I never tried throwing really high voltages at it.

Thats an excellent overclock without Vcore adjustment.
I'd be very happy.

For comparison, my old 4200+ did 2.85GHz with a fair Vcore boost.

It wasn't stable without any vcore, luckily I flashed my board
with a custom bios that I found that gives me a ton of other overclocking
options, mainly vcore :D

I was able to take my Brisbane 4000+ to 2.9Ghz stable at stock vcore. I had to bump it up a little to get 3.0 out of it but that's all it will do. I can dump voltage into it and it still won't budge over 3.0 stable. I was somewhat disappointed since I hit 2.9 stable on stock vcore. I was hoping to get 3.2-3.4 out of it with some extra voltage. Unfortunately that didn't work for me.

Just looked, and I'm doing it with the same motherboard you are. I know that board is somewhat annoying because most of the BIOSes for it do not have vcore controls. There is a beta BIOS which is pointed to in a thread about that board in the AMD motherboard forums that has all the tweaking options.
