Got this baby back online after a brand new SATA drive failed at about an hours worth of use...anyways...33c to 35c idle temps, and running 2 Prime torture tests gets me to 50c using the water cooling shown below..

...the cpu cooler before install...notice the drive bay mod to hold the radiator...

I use Imageshack alot myself and had a heck of a time uploading pics today............... :eek: It'll be back up soon enough I think.
 
i was going to go watercooling but if you're only getting those temps... ill stick with my 7700... im getting the same idle temps but lower load temps
 
You really can't compare the 2 systems to each other, they are totally different and the temps aren't reported the same................. :eek:
But as long as you're happy with your present cooler that great............. :D
 
You should look at your links again. Imageshack is not the problem, it is that your links are incomplete. The ... that it shows on the page is also in the link, so your links have the middle chopped off.

Different drivers, different BIOS, all systems show temp differences. Mine is almost silent. That's what I was after, and I am happy. :p That's really all that matters to me, I don't need approval of my choices to validate them...

My radiator is tiny. I would get better load temps with a larger one. It only measures 2" thick by 4" square and fits perfectly into the drive cage with minor mods. It was originally designed and made for a Lian-Li case. The drive cage on my Tsunami case took a minor mod on the backside to allow clearance of the tank.


However, my system is self contained, lightweight, quiet, and on par with the best (albeit noisy and/or large) coolers out there...

Nice setup, interesting radiator you have there. While your temps aren't that great you are using a small radiator, weak pump, and an old waterblock. Dont worry about that however because as you said, it is quiet and meets your goals. In the end that is all that matters. How do you like the X2?

LOVE the X2...no bogging down on the desktop when I have tons of things going. And at 2.4ghz it is plenty fast for games. Benchwise I am above that of a stock X2 4400...it's a great cpu!!! I will never be single core again....

Yep, I had that radiator made at a local shop, it is 100% copper, and the pump is the Hydor L25. The Maze-4 I have had for awhile too...and the Vantec 92mm fan sucking through the radiator is a low cfm unit.

The cooling system was originally made to cool an Athlon XP-M running at ~2400 to 2500....so I am actually quite impressed that it does as well as it does on this cpu.
