X2 +3800 OC help

Hi there

I have recently move from the intel world to the AMD and too my frist impression up till know have been quite good except I have come across some weird problems

System Specs
AMD 64 X2 +3800(HTT feq is never x4 unless FSB is less then or equal too 250 and other FSB will be set to x3)(Multiplier is alway at 10x)
Shuttle XPC SN25P
2x512MB OCZ GOLD PC4000
these are the specs in question

So I started to get abit intresting in what this chip can do OC wise. So I started by dropping my ram to 3:2 and loose timing and manage to get my FSB upto 260 couple hours duel prime stable( I cut it short) I was quite pleased with this so I decide to bring my ram in so I dropped my FSB to 250 and set the ratio to 1:1 but a upon attemping to duel prime it, it picks up errors within a few minutes. So I thought my ram might have an issue so I decide to memtest it. Tested it for 3-4 hours no errors. So on this note Im kinda left confused also duel primed for 6+ hours when ram was set to 5:4.Some info people might ask for vcore is 1.425v ram is at 2.8v coolNquiet is not install or set up. load temp 55 degrees.

2 side questiosn
1. whats a safe vcore for this chip
2. What is HT Width in the bios has options of 16up,16down/16up,8down/8up,16down/8up.8down/

First off memtest does not mean prime95 stable, not even close. Sometimes memtest will run for a couple hours and not be Windows stable period. Second, you should use a divider to make sure your RAM is not being oc'ed at all to find out what your cpu is capable of. After you find the limits of your cpu, then oc with RAM to see what your ideal RAM speed is and if a divider is necessary. When testing, you should always isolate one component at a time to limit the number of variables effecting your oc. More voltage may help you oc your RAM more. If your load temps are 55c, I would say you are at the most voltage you should apply to your chip already. Some may even say you are past the voltage you should be, although I have seen higher volts to that chip with cooler temps(what cooler are you using?) Leave the HT width alone, default settings are fine for ocing. Good luck. Oh, make sure you understand that the cpu multiplier you use affects your mem ratio when using dividers. As for the cooler Im using it stock with my shuttle they have there ICE technology which s 60mm fan push and 80mm pull across a pipeheat heatsink it seems to work quite well I have adjected my fan speed to 75%/75% and it holds a solid 52-53 degree over the 55 before Im sure I could get it lower if I wanted to bare alot of nosie
