Wow... how much heat does that thing put out.
I just kinda find it funny that the newest "HIGH-END AGP" vid cards are using the 6 pin "PCI-E" connector...![]()
wow .. exciting.
they still make AGP cards![]()
Sad isn't it?they still make AGP cards![]()
I think that heat sink is incredulous... No chip needs that. Not even a "ATP 35000xhg edition itk wGTS X550032NH J8800 unreal cocktastic ludicrous speed enabled OCG UI indescribable dung bettle special addiction" named card such as that.
CPUs do not need such extensive coolers either, but some people would like then to run as cool as possible both prolonging the life of their investment and adding to the overclockability. When you stop and think that some people water cool there CPU and GPUs, I don't think it's all that overkill.
Just because you get output from babelfish, doesn't mean that it should be posted.*

Aside from the source, AGP bridge chip confirmed to be compatible with R600/RV610/RV630.
Hmmm, very interesting.![]()
"It seems that the gamer's computer of early the 2000s, a combination of Athlon XP 2500+ (@2.2-2.5 GHz) on an nForce2 motherboard (such as Abit NF7-S) will continue to run in 2007 as well. µ"
How did they know what I am still running?!![]()

These cards are designed on PCI-E boards, almost identical really.
Sapphire did put a 4pin molex connector on their x1950PRO
edit: Found this: http://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-1782-view-Gecube-radeon-x1950-XT-AGP-benchmark.html
Looks like there is a minor difference at huge resolutions, but not too much of a difference. The switch would end up costing about $65 and I wouldn't have a video card for about a week or two. I think I'll skip the hasstle. I knew I should have waited to buy this card...oh well
I did some quick 3DMark comparisons between the X1950XT and the Pro's. See this Post and Thread.....

I came to the same conclusion as yourself. If you already have a Pro, I'd stay with it.
Honestjohn, sorry if you've already covered this, but what are your impressions of:
1. Noise level of the cooling between the Pro and XT.
2. Stability/likelihood of failure on the VRMs/caps of the XT vs. the Pro.
LOL!
So for the cost of a single card you could upgrade your whole system to PCI-Express? Reeeeaally good deal there.
Really?...that I would like proof of.....considering most decent PCIe cards are only a few dollars less....and then you need a motherboard at minimum....Who sells decent motherboards for a few dollars?
LOL!
