I installed the newest drivers I can (the ones that came with my Sapphire cards, but NFS carbon crashes at load screen, with CF enabled. If I go to non-CF, it goes a bit further (main menu) and then crashes. Anyone else have these cards in CF? Please help if you know something I don't. I am using some sort of hacked 6.9 driver pack (on retail CD), and it's about as unstable as I can imagine a driver being. IT REMINDS ME OF VIA!!!! HELP! Specs:

ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe
2x Sapphire x1950pro's CF enabled
Athlon FX-55 (running 3080MHz)
2GB Kingston PC3200
XP Pro 32-bit
Catalyst version 6.9
Direct3D driver version - 6.14.10.0431

I haven't used Omega's in years. Downloading right now, will give them a shot. Thanks for the reminder. Please, all responses welcome... I spent $900 on the CPU, Thermaltake toughpower 750W, board and cards. That's a ton on my budget...and now I have sold my old hardware, bought a new game...and I can't play a damn thing!

Omega's didn't even know what my card was. I uninstalled them, and installed these. Catalyst control shows the following:

Driver Packaging Version 8.291.1-060822a-036024C-ATI
Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version 6.14.10.6635
2D Driver File Path System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Video/{CF342147-AFEB-40F6-82F0-672058697BE3}/0000
Direct3D Version 6.14.10.0431
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.6067
CATALYST® Control Center Version 1.2.2425.37188
AIW/VIVO WDM Driver Version 6.14.10.6238
AIW/VIVO WDM SP Driver Version 6.14.10.6238

BF2 w/1.4 patch is also crashing. Windows says the following (system error log):

Try running this: http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.php , and uninstall ALL video and chipset drivers...then...do a fresh install of the chipset and video drivers and see what happens. If you've muddled your system over the last few months with various driver installs, it could be remenant driver code messing stuff up for you...

this is an entirely new build, and as of 5 hours ago, a new install of xp as well. I will try the removal/cleaner and re-install. appreciate the link. Anyone else have an xpress 3200 mobo and x1950pros in crossfire? Someone's got to have the low down!

Sorry I've been out of the Loop with ATI cards for a while, but before loading the catalyst drivers you need to install Net Framework 2.0 I believe. Since the 5xxx catalyst. With the 6 they might have N.F. built in but I just thought I'd throw that your way. ;)

I have two Sapphire's x1950pro's in crossfire on a dfi 3200 with no issue's. My suggestion is this. Have you made sure that your settings in the motherboard are correct for crossfire. When your desktop loads up does it flash if you have xfire enabled? Are you abile to do direct x test if you are in xfire? Also if it seems that you have everything installed correctly use only one card and see if each one is good/bad. Let me know on your progress.

Edit: Try 6.10's before anything else. then run a direct x check.

I have reset BIOS to defaults to rule out any errors there. Both cards are seated properly, with CF bridges firmly in place. PSU is Toughpower 750W. There are no drivers to install for the xpress 3200 chipset, but I did install the ULi USB driver, and the ULi RAID driver. I then patched to SP2, then got the rest of the available windows updates. Then installed my SB Audigy 2 ZS drivers, then the retail CD drivers, which appear to be the same thing as this. I then enabled CF through CCC, and it does flash my desktop after loading windows. However, no games will run any further than the first load screen. As soon as it hits the ATI drivers, it hard locks. NFS carbon displays the initial loading screen as such - locked up mouse pointer, left half of screen displays, right side is black. BF2 when loading looks like an out of sync signal...completely corrupted. Also, the 6.10's will not install, giving an error that says no supported hardware found, then exiting.

more frustrating than it not working...is when it works and you've done nothing different than you did over the past 2 days. I removed the retil drivers in the Control Panel, then shutdown. Checked the card seatings, PCI-e power, and cross fire bridges were reseated. Then went into safe mode, ran driver cleaner (thank you), then rebooted. I tried installing the 6.10's again...but it errored out, my hardware is not supprted. So, I reluctantly re-installed the retail drivers, then rebooted, and re-enabled CF mode. BF got all the way into the game, all settings on high 6x AF...DAMN DOES THAT SHIT LOOK SWEET! I'm going to try carbon now.

carbon is working fine as well, no idea what was going on. CPU stable at 3080MHz, cards are at 608/770. FRAPS says low is 26FPS, High is 87FPS, avg is 58.6FPS...with everything at 1400x1050 set to MAX....now I'm loving this setup...but how weird that I've done nothing different over the past 2 days of getting this stuff to work. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS!
