I just got a X1900XTX for my second rig and I am running Windows Pro 64bit. I installed Net Frame 2.0 and installed the 6.3 drivers, this is all after a clean reformat. My benchmark is good and a few hours of COD 2 were good. My concern is when I first boot up for the first few seconds the screen has two horizontal black or white lines that flash across the screen for a split second, when i say split, i mean split second. After initial bootup, it stops doing it, only time it does it afterwards is when I open up the Control Center. Is this normal or a 64bit issue? I just came from a Nvidia SLI rig and I haven't had ATI for awhile. Also the image quality is great on this card compared to my second SLI rig. Please let me know your suggestions and tell me what you think.

Thanks.

Well mine does it everytime I open the Catalyst Control Center, not just when I first installed it. Same way for you too?

It seems like it does it when ever it has to do anything with the Control Center...

No just checked, mine only does it on boot up.
To be honest im not entirely sure if it does it since the 6.3's i will try remember to check when i switch my comp on tomorow.
I don't think its anything to worry about tho.

Maybe its because I am using Windows 64bit....But mine also does it when it first boots up, like right before it goes to the Desktop login screen. But it also does it everytime I access the CCC...

It's the detecting of your display devices, this happens as soon as you open CCC. You can avoid this by selecting "use manual detecting only" under display options. The screen won't "flicker" anymore then.

Thanks mate, I wish you would of responded earlier. I just took my X1900XTX back and exchanged it and this one did it too, so its not hardware. I kind of feel bad taking that last card back, because ATI is going to have to replace it, but it wasn't defective. I have morale, that's the only reason I am feeling bad about it.

Thanks for the help everyone, I do appreciate it.

My X850XT PE does it, all the way back to when I first got it with catalyst 5.6. It only happens for a split second at boot up like you said, so it doesn't really bother me...

doesnt happen on my x850xt well it didnt ive sold it now :p

post some benchies of the 1900xt plz :)

This benchmark was done on the following system...

FX-55@ 2.81MHz
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
2 gigs of Corsair XMS RAM
Audigy 2ZS Platinum edition soundcard
X1900XTX @ stock clocks

3DMark05 = 11,983

I would post a screenshot but I do not have a registered copy of 3DMark05. So I cannot link my ORB. Sorry.

I also benchmarked it with my FX-55 at stock clocks (2.61)

3DMark05 = 11,176

Big CPU bottleneck.......

What does everyone think of these benchmark scores? My SLI Rigs benchmark scores are on that link in my signature.

You do not need the registered version to have an ORB page.
