X1900XTX keeps shutting off

I just built a new computer with a Asus X1900XTX, an Intel D945PSN motherboard and a 500W Antec SmartPower 2.0. It worked fine for the first day but now, the video shtus off after 30 sec. The system keeps running and if I press the power button, Windows shuts off normally.

I tried un plugging everything from the power supply but the motherboard and the graphic card in case I did'nt have enough power and booting into the bios but it still does the same thing.

I have also opend up the side of the case and left the computer off for an hour to get it as cool as possible. The CPU is running at 49 celcius, I'm not sure about the GPU but the air comming from it is pretty cool, I mean, how hot can get booting into the bios.

Any ideas?

It sounds like your Antec might be going. Have any other PSU you can swap out?

Power supply....... My single X1900XTX required an OCZ 520watt power supply which couldn't even turn my computer on in Crossfire mode.


You need a power supply with at least 20amps on each 12volt rail.

Ripple is a bit high for this PSU.

Look at these PSUs and notice the difference between what you have and what they offer.

For one you should notice the 12V rails

Ok, thank all but just to be sure I understand correctly, would a termaltake W00049 be good enough, it's pretty much the best I can find localy.

Same one I am running as it is in stock at MicroCenter. Works with two X1900's in Crossfire!
