Win XP Pro with all the patches and whatnot
Latest NVIDIA NForce 4 drivers
Latest ATI Drivers from Website (I've tried the past few editions of Omega as well)
Basically while playing games (most commonly in WoW and sometimes in BF2 and Source type games) I get weird texture issues where they're flashing around, or I get lines originating from one point in the game and they just follow me around while I turn. Sometimes it seems like there is two sets of floor textures where one is legit and the other just grows out of the ground at a 15 degree angle rising above the real one....and sometimes there aren't some textures at all.
The card is not overclocked, it's not running hot, and there isn't a bunch of dust built up in it.
I have a decent screenshot of it but I don't know what image hosting site is 'in' nowadays.

I have the same issue with my X1900XTX. The temp readings on the card seem to be fine, but heat definately seems to be an issue since the problem lessens or disappears for a while if I take off my side panel and point a house fan at it. I've heard that this kind of issue is usually related to RAM failure.
 
Elsewhere (Rage3D.com) I saw that this issue was resolved (if you are using the 7.7 Cats) by doing the following:

Uninstall 7.7
Reinstall previous
Uninstall previous
Reinstall 7.7

Apparently just overwriting the driver is causing issues. You might also want to try the 7.6s, as there have been some issues reported with the 7.7s.
 
MY X1900XTX also crapped out, i had to send it back because it wouldn't even boot up with my computer. It had jagged yellow lines across the screen and the desktop was couldn't be seen. I don't mind sending it back, because they sent me an 8800gts as a replacement :D

I uninstalled and reinstalled a bunch of times, and I also went through my PC and got rid of all my ATI drivers the old fashioned way. I remember there was a time when there was a neat little tool called DriverCleaner but apparently it caught on and now they charge for it. So right now it seems to be working, but I haven't really played for that long to really give it a thorough test.

If the stuff I already did doesn't work out, how much effort does it take to get ATI to RMA my card? Also, how long does the warranty last on my card?
 
Anything purchased after fall of 2005 carries a 1 year warranty from ATI. They do not ask for proof of purchase when you register and RMA the card (based on my last two RMA's) but if the card is too old you will be notified when trying to setup the RMA, happened when I attempted to RMA a dead X1900XTX for a friend that had been sitting in his closet for a bit too long.

This is a common problem with these cards. ATI stuck a crappy piece of shit cheapo cooler on them so they tend to fail after a while. I have the problem as well and it seems to be a little better if you force the fan to higher speed with ati tool. Might want to buy some ear plugs though.:rolleyes: I've heard that the artifacting goes away if you stick an aftermarked HSF on it, ie a VF900. I'm guessing the stock one starves the vram of air and it overheats, and you can't get any temp readings for them. None of the ati vendors offer decent warranty for their cards so you're pretty much screwed unless you have a spare card to hold you over while your card ships to South Africa or wherever Sapphire is located.
 
Yeah, it toast. Going to try to RMA it today.
If not I'll try the aftermarket cooling stuff.

Thanks for point out the free driver cleaner, it's been a while since I've seen that guy.
Also, thanks for the heads up on ATi Tool, it's been an equally long time since I've used that one as well. I took your advice and manually set the fan speed and at least the fan still works. I'm going to game with it a bit and see if anything goes wrong, if it still does I'm just going to try and RMA the suck and if that falls through then I'll try the aftermarket cooling solution.
 
Mine is dying too exactly after one year....

For a while I didn't know about ATI Tray tools, to turn the fan up. Now I'm sure the memory is dying from too much heat.

I'm not sure if you can see this corruption, but even in desktop I'm getting weird green flashing pixels. You can see it on a black background, and flashing purple pixels on gray. Never buying ATI again, I will probably buy an 8800GTS soon.

No corruption visible. Points even more to bad card- the software thinks it's drawing correctly, so it's getting scrambled somewhere between the slot and the monitor. IOW, the card is toast.
