x1900xt crossfire issues

I dont know whether its my motherboard or if its my cards, but i recently purchased a Club x1900xt, Club x1900 mastercard and an Asus a8r-mvp motherboard.

The problem is that i cant seem to get more than one cards performance out of the set up. I run 3dmark 2006 and it causes my computer to crash at the end of the first test.

I replaced my power supply from a Tagan 580w to a Seasonic modular 700w cause apparently that can be a factor, but nothing has changed.

Is it possible that you require the full x16 on both PCI-E lanes to have x1900 crossfire?
 
have you ensured that crossfire is enable in the drivers and you are running the most current drivers?
 
Im not sure but you probably also have to go into the bios to configure the pcie slots to 8x/8x , at least i did with my DFI.
 
well i set up my bios to be running in dual video card mode, which sets up both lanes to 8x, and i also enabled the crossfire in the drivers. I did all that before posting, but now, it seems that it doesn't crash in 3dmark, it possible was a power issue. now all the problems are based around my processor, its only at 2.3 and severely crap. i fixed that though by getting a new proccessor.
