X1900XT 3D corruption

I recently purchased an HIS X1900XT card...the problem is that none of the 3DMark programs are able to finish their tests...there is always major video corruption that comes up, usually very early on in the tests, and then the system just freezes and requires a re-boot...everything on the Desktop and all 2D apps work fine...

CPU and video card are not overclocked, according to CCC OverDrive my video card temps when running 3DMark are around 57 C, idle temps around 47 C...all DirectX tests from dxdiag pass successfully

does anyone know what could be wrong?...Thanks

try cleaning the drivers with cat uninstaler and reinstalling ,

also reinstall directx
 
tried all of those things...still same issue...hope I don't have to RMA this card...
 
I have the Sunbeamtech NUUO-550W power supply...it has dual 12v rails which are rated are rated at 18A and 16A...it should be more then enough for a single video card
 
Is this a new build? Has this system run with another videocard before if so which one are you upgrading from?

yes this is a new build...I had a 7800 GTX 256 card in the system at first and that was working fine...I recently upgrade to this X1900XT...

if you had nvidia drivers installed on this system thats prabably whats causing the corruption ,

try using the nvidia driver cleaners ,

if it doesnt work then you will need to do a format and reinstall windows ,

Uninstall ATI drivers then use driver cleaner in safe mode. get rid of all nvidia ati files and I do mean all of them. Unless you are running a nforce/RD480 etc MB then you have to be careful

Fresh reformat maybe? I did when I took my two 256 7800's and got a X1900XTX in my second rig. Just to avoid the little issues.
