what exactly is the difference because it seems like the 1900xt is discontinued as its not being sold on ait's website but the gt is.

XT is not dis continued. the X1900 Crossfire Edition is an X1900XT with one of them colabering makes-this-core-and-this-core-symetrical chip dealies

GT sucks ass, locked pipes, decreased clock speed, its outperformed by an All in wonder X1900.

due to the $30 price differance and the massive performance differances, i recomend the X1900XT

see performance diffs here

ok, so does the x1900xt outperform the nvidia 7900gt. they are similar in pricing

easily. the 7900GTX is the card that competes with the x1900xt.

I suggest you do some googling or search old reviews from HardOCP to get clear answer for your question. Or atleast doing that you get somewhat better answer than in here, where nerds from both sides start to strangle each other over brand loyalty :D

Just do a search "X1900XT review" and check out many different reviews. I bet most of them compare X1900XT directly against 7900GT.

samOT, i have used both a 7900GT and an X1900XT in my pc, and there is no comparison, the XT eats it alive. 79GTs are good cards, but my XT is easily the most phenomenal card I have used to date.

I don't know any legit review sites that would put the X1900XT on the same level as a 7900GT. [H] included.

EDIT: Oops I see you have an XT :p . The only reason any reviewers would directly compare the two is because they represent each vendors "top - 1" product.

Also to the OP; stay away from the X1900GT, a 7900GT is a much better all round card.
