I am totally confused , why when i install ati tool beta 25 does it tell me my core and mem speeds are 500/600 when they are supposed to be stock 625/1.45 ????? Is this ATI Tool giving me the wrong speeds? I bought the ATI built version of this card.
 
just a thought but are you looking at the 2d speeds?? And did it list the speeds fine with the non beta .24 version? And dont worry it is more than likely just the tool giving the wrong speed, although from what I read if you use the OC util it will seems to start from the 2d speeds of the card, at least that is what I have read.
 
There a thread about a X1800XT that has a pic of his ATItool, he is running at the same speeds as mine does, I thought it should be 625 core 750 Memory, but it is alot less 587/693 on both his and my card, and it is not ATItool giving wrong #s, as the ATI Control Center gives the same ones. also ATI tool sets the 2D and 3D clocks to the same lvl when you first start it up as it is unable to set them seperatly, i am wondering if it is setting the speeds to the 2d speeds instead of the 3d speed.
 
ati tool on my xt1900 (beta version of ati tool) as the standard one does NOT pick up my card does 500/600 an does not show anything else it controls both the 2d/3dspeed

in ATI CCC my card is clocked correctly , but i can NOT get the cards core to clock over 600 on atitool , artifacts right away ... but i can sure flash my bios over to a toxic version an it runs all day long
 
Somebody has to post this shit at least once a week. Those are 2D speeds as well as 2D voltages. The process ati2evxx.exe is responsible for the voltage increase and clock speed increases in your card when it enters 3D mode. The only way to overclock using ATI Tool on the X1900 cards (as far as I know) is to have it disable that process, increase the voltages on the core and RAM to their 3D levels and then do your OCing.
 
i do , increase the voltages :) ive even MAXED all 5 of the voltage bars out an still yet to reach good speeds :mad:
