I just bought the wife an x1900 AIW to replace her 7600 gt. I'm thinking it will be a pretty good bump in performance, plus she can get rid of her NVTV tuner as well. My questions are:

1.) Is the cooler on the AIW loud? (I replaced the one on her 7600 gt because it sounded like a small hairdryer)

2.) Will a Zalman fit on the AIW? It looks like the tuner part might restrict what you can replace the stock heatsink with.

3.) Does it matter which catalyst drivers that I use?

Thanks, any advice on how to set this card up is most appreciated.

I owned a 7600GT and still own a AIW 1900. The stock fan on the 1900 is pretty quiet and much quiter compared to the 7600GT as a reference.
The Zalman "should" work as I have seen that combo in the past. The Accelero does work if you mod the cooler, a triangle roughly .5*.5 inches, off the plate to allow for the tuner cover.

Good info, thanks!

When watching TV through it, does it matter which Catalyst driver you are using or do they all work?

no it does not, just as long as you have all the correct multimedia software...

are you selling the 7600gt ?

No, I will be moving it into my son's computer. Thanks for the reply on the drivers.

3dmark 05 went from 4500 to about 9000. I couldn't believe how long this card was, almost twice as long as the 7600 gt. I think it was a healthy upgrade, I'm sure it will be able to play Oblivion with a little more detail than before.
