Has anyone upgraded from an X1800XT to X1900XT card? I like lots of eye candy and 1680x1050 and my Intel Mystery Chip shouldn't bottleneck any GPU on the market. I've sold my X1800 and am looking for an upgrade to last me until there's a game that begs for DX10. I have Oblivion and FEAR on the shelf but I'm mostly playing City of Villains, HL2, and WoW. Real world, will I notice a difference?

Thanks,

E

I wish I had a Intel Mystery Chip :D

Yeah with that I would get a X1900XT if you have that mystery chip. Get the best performance you can!!!! I know I would.

Difference yes, huge mostly no. Oblivion and other shader intensive titles come into their own on X1900s, but for many less shader dependant games the difference won't be that pronounced.

if you could step up with ati cards i'd say go for it... but right now it's not worth it. your card is good and an x1900xt would not be worth what you'd pay to upgrade. you probably couldnt' sell your x1800xt for anywhere near what you bought it for and you'd be buying the x1900xt at a high price. If however you don't care about how much money you're spending then go for it. :D

im planning on getting a x1800xt my self here in a week or so after i sell my x850xt-pe.

the x1800xt is about half the price and should last until DX10 gets good enough to upgrade to it. then ill just demote the x1800xt to physics if ati gets that up and running.

X1900XT over X1800XT, not much change, just 3X the shading horsepower. ummm, if i was you i wouldnt of ditched the X1800XT, but then im broke.

and whats all this ;)  about "intel Mystery Chip"? do you have some OMGWTFINTELX6800CONROEPUREPWNAGESAUCE ......... BBQ processer?

X1900xt is an improvement over x1800xt but not worth it, just save the cash for next year...dx10 cards.
