what does enabling adaptive anti-aliasing do? also, is there a difference in quality for that and when i hit performance to quality?

what does catalyst AI do?

what about the other stuff (like mipmap and vertical), is there a big difference or should I just worry about AA and AF?

when turning on "Max settings" on FEAR or any game, is it IN game settings maxed or also setting to performance to 'quality' in CCC in various areas.
 
also "let application decide" for AA, is it better to do it through CCC or in game?
 
Leave AA to app preference. High Quality for Anisotropic Filertering should always be on. Manually set to 16x AF...

Adaptive AA is for fixing jaggies on things like fences and leaves. Performance does it a little and quality does it a lot. Some games need it bad like Half-Life 2 and Battlefield 2. Some games dont need it @ all -- like Quake 4 and COD2.

Get the hang of creating profiles for games and activating them before you play.

what's the diff between app specific and manual?
