x1800xt - Can't OC Memory?

Been playing with the card a bit, tried some OC'ing. Was able to get the core to 690 w/o any problems, although it gave me the same 3dmarks05 score as 650 core did, so I kept it at that. However, anytime I try to bump the mem I get artifacting right away. The auto OC in CCC doesn't nudge the mem at all either. I thought people were getting around 16-1700 mem clocks with this thing? Does the 256mb version have slower ram than the 512, or should I be doing something differently?

CCC does this to me too with the 6.8 CAT's.

MY memory seems to only OC up to 792 in CCC, so I just adjust the slider manually and it accepts it. I know I can get the card up to or past 700 on the core, so ATi Tray Tool would be a better option in both our cases.
 
Just had Titan Quest start artifacting at 660/746. I think I'm just going to wait until my accelero gets here to OC, this thing is literally heating up my whole room!

Yeah its a hot mother. The Accelero lowered my temps by 10C or so.
