So I got my new system. Installed everything ok just fine. Well hasn't been but 4 days and it card was never overclocked or anything. But I am playing BF2 and my card seems to be overheating. I get weird artifacts when I look a certain way.

My system specs are:
3800+ X2
Asus A8N-E
1GB Muskin Ram
x1600xt

I don't know if im not doing something right or what. This is my first build with pci-e and now it seems that my system is running pretty slow in games. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking or RMA the board and videocard becaues I am not sure how to get hypertransport to work with the asus board.

Hopefully someone can help me out.

if this is a heat issue you could try ati tray tool and up the fan speed to better the cooling

I agree turn up the fan to 90- 95% and see if it goes away. The 6600GT was famous for that issue and it was sually caused by the HS not making proper contact with the chip thus too much heat once 3D was ramped up. My wife's box has that card and it's flawless so far but i did reseat the HSF with some older AS3 and i lapped the HSF as well and that brought temps down about 8c average mostly at load.

Well the odd thing is I am only really seeing it in BF2. So I went though got the newest driver for pretty much everything. I will have to test it when I get back. It is a pretty flawless card though in every other game. Maybe I will try to take off the heatsink and put some AS on it.
