X1600xt in crossfire

I get my ASUS A8R-MVP Crossfire mobo next week for my new build and was wondering how 2 x1600xt's perform in a crossfire setup. Or should I just buy a x1800xt now, and the crossfire edition when prices lower a little?
 
yeah and plus the fact that I'm kinda power hungry. ;) Kinda like that idiot Tim Allen on Home Improvement...::::grunts::::: With my new rig I will rule the world!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Single X1800XT would be a smarter idea. Then once the Crossfire Edition comes out, get that. :)
 
Yeah definetely the X1800 XT now and Crossfire later. I would get the Crossfire X1800 XT master card now though. I think the non master X1800 XT will go down in price more than the Crossfire Master card once the X1900 comes out.

nah don't get the master card first, i think you're wrong in your assumption also, since the master card is new and a bit more rare it will be more expensive now, get the XT now and the master card later would be my option for sure. then flash it to XT OC! :D
 
I think I'm going to go with an x1800xt now and by the time I'm ready to purchase the crossfire edition then I can add a nice 21"-23" widescreen flat panel monitor.

Ah thats what we like to hear. Very powerful card to power a high res monitor for the ultimate gaming experience :D Even one X1800XT should keep you happy for a good while also
 
Yeah, 1 X1800XT now, add another later. I am replacing my current card with an X1800XT and throwing it (my current) on one of those Asus boards with my spare 148 and an X850 master card.

ATI's version of SLI. It's basically running a normal ATI card with a "master" version, which increases performance by 40-60%.
 
crossfire is an old game from the 80s where 2 people play and try to shoot a marble in the other persons goal....Sorry, had to say it ;)
