X1600XT CF benchmarks??

Hey I have a friend that just went through a massive upgrade (though I'm surprised he did it so close to Conroe coming out, buutt thats just me :confused: )..

Nothing strange about the system except he went with two X1600XT in Crossfire.. I was like "WAAAHH??", mind you the price was definitely right ($160cnd per card)..

Then I am asked him about performance, and he said it was equal to an X1900XT, and thats why he got it.. Hell if its that good, $320 cards vs $600 card, yeah thats worth it.

But, I can't find any benchmarks for X1600XT's being crossfired...... The only bencmark I can find is on tomshardware but it shows the damn things getting like 10 fps in FEAR at 1024x768 which makes no sense...

I googled, and all I could find was the single cards.. Or crossfired X1900/X1800..

I'd like to see some benches becuase I would definitely consider this an alternative to my orignial upgrading plans.
 
I have only one 3DMark05 score from a user with X1600 XTs in Cross Fire:

You could try sending a PM to HisSvt76 and ask him/her for some game benchmarks.
 
thanks for the reply. 3Dmark score will make it easy to give a comparison. (Even though its 'synthetic' its still a good way of figuring it out).

The CPU might cause a differents in power, but I dont' think much. He has a 930D (3.0ghz) OC'ed to 3.75ghz.
 
I use to have a X1600XT Crossfire setup (before I got my single X1900XTX)


X1600XT in CF is equal to a single X1800XL...possibly a X1800XT.

I was getting anywhere between 3500-4000 scores in 3Dmark06 depending on my settings and overclocks/tempuratures.

Scores around 3700 are what I've seen as the general average for a X1600XT CF setup.
