Found on the egg that there are OEM X1600pro PCI-E cards for a lil over $100. Is this worth the money or should I be looking at something different. I want the cheapest, but still decent, PCI-E card I can find. Currently running a 9500pro and still love ATI

If you get one with ddr3 its not bad at all, between a 6800 and 6800gs speedwise. I would pass on the ddr2 cards. The 128 bit bus really needs the extra bandwidth of ddr3. Mine scores higher than my 6800gt did in 3dmark05, but its not as smooth in games.

Ok so what would be another suggestion... I see a X800GTO for $90. I know that it doesnt have SM3.0 but then again I really only play WoW.

EDIT: The cheapest thing I can find with GDDR3 is $150, which is a little out of my range, looking to stay as close to $100 as possible but in the $150 range there is the X800GTO2 and the X1600XT...suggestions

These new ddr2 cards are fine, you dont 'need' gddr3. the x1600 pro is a much better choice than a x800 series card IMO

Heres the card I bought, except I got it from their ebay auctions for $75. $100 shipped for this card still ain't bad. It doesn't actually have the zalman style cooler in the picture, just a copper version of the standard x1600 cooler. Mine will do about 675 core and 1450 memory. Thats above x1600xt speeds. It only has 128mb vram, but I would take the extra memory speed over more vram.

Wow ok thats not a bad overclock for the stock cooler... Dont plan on overclocking much if at all, but still that fact that right now the Sapphires have free shipping plus a 10 MIR making them $101... thats aint bad.

The stock clocks on the sapphire are 500 core 780 memory. The stock clocks on the palit are 575 core 1296 memory. Thats a big speed difference.

Yeah I realize that... quite the nice overclock there... Hopefully the good ole' graduation fairy will come through and the wife will let me build a new computer...!!!! :D WOOOT COME ON GRADUATION FAIRY!!!!

Ok, just wanted to make it clear that you don't have to overclock this card to get good performance out of it. Good Luck!
