Alright, new to the forum. I know lots of people couldn't care less about the x1600 but I personally am waiting for it to get released. I've been googling for any news but there doesn't seem to be anything. Why is no one talking about this and how it was supposed to be released yesterday?

Unless ATi lower the price there isn't a massive appeal for the card. It's not exacty bad just baly priced. (IMO)

it is suppose to be out now but you are right, i don't see it anywhere either

i'm not surprised though

let's see how things look by Monday, sometimes it takes over the weekend for things to come in

Ya, I am interested to see what e-tailer stores price these cards at.

Not like it matters but lots of places acrross the ocean are getting the 1600x already... Like Brent says we should see them show up soon here in the states...

I'm waiting to see what this card has to offer as well.

What do you guys think about it? Will it out perform a 6600GT?

It will out perform that 6600gt but the 6800 gs (and is available now) is around the same price and its way way faster then the x1600xt.

I believe the x1600XT is faster than the 6600GT, by how much Im unsure, but the x1600Pro seems like it may be as slow, or slower, than a 6600GT.. /shrug thats my thoughts from seeing the stuff from gpureview.com.

not flaming but why get it if the older card is about the same in performance and cheaper?.....just for the video features? thats all i cant think of ppl on anandtech report it decoding video 5x faster.

The 6800GS is listed at ~$300 (CAN) if you can even find it in Canada.

The X1600 Pro is listed at $185 (CAN) at shoprbc.com.

They also carry the X800 GTO2, but ridiculously priced at $325 (CAN).

$185 is a pretty good price I would say considering the 6600GT is still over $200 here.

pre-order for x1600pro available at this site

http://www.pcsuperdeals.com/ProductView.asp?ProductID=e7ac1ca0-c665-44cb-9ddc-7adbf0a768e6&Refer=11

looks like they're finally starting to trickle in, $150 for x1600 pro 256, that seems a bit cheaper than originally projected, that would put the x1600 xt 256 at about $200?

And to answer the above, i have a machine that has a bunch of ATI components already, ati theatre 550 tv tuner and ati motherboard, tried a 6600 gt but there were compatibility issues with it, and tried an x800 temporarily which worked fine. I think my system is just happier with ATI components.

wow that's $50 under MSRP! http://www.hardocp.com/image.html?image=MTEyODI4MDE0MEFCVGlYSnBoRUNfMl8xMV9sLmpwZw==

They have been out for over a week over seas. Such as Greece, Denmark, etc. Guess they are getting something first for a change.

I think the x1600xt 128MB version for $150 would be a great card. Thats why I want to see prices. I see no use for the 256MB. Your not going to be running 1600x1200 on these cards and looking at nvidia's 6600gt doesn't seem to suffer at all from only having 128mb of ram.

This is how I would like to see ATI's pricing turn out in a month from now:
x1300 = ~$80 not really a gamers card but its passive heatsink would be good for HTPC
x1300pro = ~$100 Already there.
x1600pro 128mb = ~$120 <-- good competition for the 6600/6600ddr2. Might actually find some 6600ddr2 priced right ($100)
x1600pro 256mb = ~$150 <--- already there. $50 under msrp
x1600xt 128mb = ~$150 <--- would be great pick over the 6600gt or the 6800
x1600xt 256mb = ~$180 <--$70 under msrp but i think the 6800gs is better and sells for the $200-230 range so ATI needs too.
x1800 gto???? :p = $250 A 12 pipe x1800? possible of unlocking? I think I am dreaming here.
x1800xl = ~$325 Not retailing at $325 yet but can find oem at this price.
x1800xt 256mb = ~$450-500 Where is this card!
x1800xt 512mb = ~$500-550 Agian you can find it for $550 as oem only. needs to retail at this price

I think ATI overpriced MSRP on their x1300s and x1600s giving themselves really bad PR when if they just set MSRP better they could have actually gotten some good reviews and PR.

I paid $308 + 15% Tax + Shipping, for my x800GTO^2, well worth it considering I can get 7K 3D Mark 2005 (Great game I know).

But damn, Counter-Strike: Source at 1600x1200 4xFSAA is so much nicer, and higher FPS than my 6600GT playing at 1024x768 4xFSAA.
