x1600 xt question

I have been doing some reseach about this card. Can anyone tell me if it is good. I am looking for a video card around $200 at the most and thought this looked like the best of the bunch.

Anyone else got some input?
 
thought this was the ati forum. Whats up with every where I go they say get the nvidia? I would like to get an ATI card.

well dont you want the best card for your money? for $200 the 7600gt is the best card.
 
i thought the X1600XT's were going for 160 and below?

its a good card, you won't be mad at your purchase

they are $150 and up if you mail order and the 7600gt is $175 and up. the 7600gt easily beats the x1600xt in every game. in some games it beats the shit out of the x1600xt. the 7600gt is the better card by a long shot for that price range.
 
The 7600gt completely owns the x1600xt....it's more at the level of the x850xt.
 
if you can pay a little extra cash i would get a x1800gto

the x1800gto's memory bandwith is twice as fast as the 7600gt, and you'll only end up paying an extra 30-40 dollars.

x1800gto > 7600gt ANY day

The point i think some people just forget is we all have a set budget sometimes. I like the x1600xt and its not like they perform horribly. for the price and only looking at ATI i would go for it and have fun with it. Here:

still u could just wait some more and save and u have a card thats at least 2x as good (ok maybe not but WAY better) :rolleyes:
 
and then when that card comes out you can wait some more and do the same ... and then again, and again, and again, but you could also over clock it!

seriously if hes looking to buy now, theres zero reason to wait unless somethings coming with in the month with high expectations
 
well i sure like my x1600xt, it overclocks like a demon, its decent for gaming,got sm3, i like avivo and all the little extras that come with the ati card. Is it the best bang for the buck, who cares, it plays all games just fine,great features,size, nothing bad to say about it, money well spent!
 
Thanks for all the info, I think I will end up going with the x1600 xt. I am sure I won't be dissapointed. I may go for the x1800gto like suggested earler for alittle extra money, but I might ditch the processer I was going to get and get a little better one that is why I was looking at the x1600 xt to help keep the price down.
