X1600 price drops

now they need price drops on the 1800xl to be much closer to the average 7800gt. They're still about $50 off. :p

Well it leaves about $50 between the x1600xt and 6600gt doesn't it? Similar to X1800XL and 7800GT maybe crossfire performance (on X1600's) may swing votes and justify the price tag?

Anyone know how a 6800 XT would match up?
Very Bad card. probably slower then the 6600gt! ONLY 8 pipes with much slower clock speeds 350 mhz core and 300 mhz memory! Also has half the memory. POS card :)

Update: eVGA's site lists the card as 12 pipes, but the cheaper asus card is listed as 8 pipes on newegg's site. both still have very slow memory, low clocked cores and half the phyical memory of the 6800gs.

With the X1600 XT 256MB version now down to 199US, the X1600 XT 128MB is down to 149US itself, which competes directly with the MSRP of the 6600 GT 128MB @ 149US.

So no worries now, and competing against the 6600 GT this card is faster. Nvidia isn't going to release the 7600 GT anyway till March 2006 from what I heard, so that is one of the reasons for the existance of the 6800 GS in the meantime.
