...do you get the option to set CMSS to "Stereo Surround" or do you only get CMSS?

It's really a shame, because the first thing I notice when I boot into Feisty is that it just sounds better than it does in Vista, so I'm thinking about an upgrade to alleviate that.

Also, is the X-Fi still completely broken in Linux, or is there something partially functional out for it at this point?

CMSS options depend what mode you are in.
