So I haven't really seen this device mentioned at all and it's rather new.
I am NOT an a picky sound person at all. I was perfectly happy with onboard sound and my 5.1 logitech speakers, but since I got my Gateway FX laptop, I've lost the 5.1 output. So I picked up the X-Fi Surround 5.1 USB and OMFG I had no idea what I was missing. I doubt that this thing is even doing anything in hardware either (but it could I guess). Doesn't seem to be much info about it. But I am 100% sold. The sounds that I'm hearing now are just amazing. The thing was only $60 too. Now I'm wishing I had a decent sound card in my desktops all these years.
