x-fi problem?

Hey guys i have an x-fi xtreme music and a 5.1 system, but only my front two speakers work. Everything is plugged in right. If i enable cms-3d only my rear two speakers work. the sub and center channel are fine but any ideas on how to fix this? is my sound card messed up? Ive tried the newer drivers and had no luck. Also ive tried it on all 3 modes. I have my speakers set to 5.1 as well. any ideas?

Oh and another thing, when use the "test" and click my rear left speaker both of my rear speakers say rear left. but when i click the right one..nothing happens

What kind of speakers are you using.

On my Logitech z-560s if I press the M3D button my rear speakers dont work. Basically try to turn off Logitech's 3D emulation

Does the volume control thingy on your 5500's have a 'matrix' button? my 5300e's do... make sure it's OFF. and make sure all wires are connected properly, and securely.

And make sure you are not using the digital output connection.

Sounds like you speaker wires might be hooked up wrong... So your speakers did 5.1 before this?

no my old 5.1 system did this also. Ive had my x-fi since xmas and i got the z-5500s a few days after. so far its done this with both systems. I found a way to work around it kinda...I turn on CMS-3d and put it on stereo surround and move the bar down to 50% then it works on all speakers but im sure it would sound better if it was off and i had it working normally. =/ Ive got all the speakers hooked in right, i just checked them again
