X-Fi Platinum or nvidia nforce4?

hey guys.

question:

i have my htpc connected to my onkyo s580 receiver via s/pdif (digital coax from my receiver to digital coax to my onboard nvidia nforce4 sound card). would the sound of movies sound better if i purchased a x-fi platinum and made my PC handle all the sound decoding, or would it sound better with my onkyo s580 receiver (has DTS NEO6, dolby pro logic ii)?
