I have an optical cable running into the drive bay input and sound will play fine through it, but it periodically goes completely silent for several seconds every couple of minutes with no regularity. If I play sound that is on the computer itself, there is never any trouble. Also, if I plug my headphones into the jack on the drive the same silence for several seconds happens. It appears to me that the drive itself or the connections to and from the sound card are not functioning properly. Does anyone have a solution or has anyone experienced this problem before?
